pottery

i just had a brilliant revelation.
life is like. . . . pottery!!!
it's like one of those pots on those wheels,
and with every thing you do, or spend time with,
it's like putting a dent or crease in the side of that pot.
so by the end of life, you have this cool,
or not so cool-looking piece of pottery.
plus, its hard to get rid of those mistakes
but its still possible! and you can make it
look however you want, and no one is the
same. sorry if that's the lamest life metaphor
you've heard yet. but i admit it's better than
life is a highway.
does that make sense?
if not than i probably look like an idiot but ok.

and this what your life-pot would look like

if you lived a very boring life.

Hey, you are going nuts with this blogging! We don't see you for months and then all of a sudden...don't get burned out though!

I wasn't going to comment again (since I've done enough) but I couldn't resist with this one. One of my dearest friend's (Emma) father is Bill Danoff...doesn't ring a bell? Well he wrote "Country Roads" among many other famous songs, was very close friends with John Denver, and the leader of Starland Vocal Band (Emma's mom was one of the other members of Starland) you may recognize one of their songs "Afternoon Delight", if not, I'm sure your mom knows it. Anyway, several years ago Bill wrote a song called "Potter's Wheel" that is probably one of my favorites. You can read the lyrics here: http://billdanoff.com/songs.htm (just choose the song "Potter's Wheel" off the list)
If you want to hear the song with music he has it on his myspace page
http://www.myspace.com/billdanoff
His is a slightly grimmer version of your more happier analogy of the pottery but at least it's a similar message that our life is what we make of it. Anyway, thought you might get a kick out of this.

Thanks garrity that means a lot! I'll be sure to check that one out! Interesting to know that someone may be thinking on the same brain wave out there.
btw, blogging is sorta like a new years resolution, so there you go (:
